Providing significant relief to NEET UG 2026 candidates, the NTA has extended the deadline for submitting bank details for fee refunds until June 22. Students can update their banking information by logging into the NEET portal.

Relief has arrived for millions of NEET UG students across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has granted students another opportunity regarding the process for refunding examination fees. Candidates can now submit their bank account details until June 22, 2026. Previously, the final deadline for this was set for May 27.

This decision by the NTA offers major relief to those students who, for various reasons, were unable to update their bank details on time. The agency has explicitly stated that there are still many candidates who have not yet completed the refund process. It is for this reason that the final deadline has been extended.

The Refund Process Initiated Post-NEET Exam

The NEET UG 2026 examination was held on May 3 of this year. Following the exam—and in light of various issues and procedural matters—the NTA initiated a fee refund facility. As part of this initiative, students were requested to provide their bank account details so that the refund amount could be transferred directly into their accounts. The NTA had previously issued notices regarding this matter on May 12 and May 22, 2026. Subsequently, the portal was opened for students from May 22 to May 27, allowing them to submit their bank details.

1.3 Million Students Have Submitted Information

According to the NTA, approximately 1.3 million candidates have updated their bank account details so far. However, a significant number of students have yet to complete this process. The agency notes that many students received the information late, while others were unable to complete the form due to technical glitches. To ensure that no student suffers any loss, the deadline has therefore been extended by nearly one month.

Once submitted, Information Cannot Be Modified.

The NTA has also issued an important warning to students. The agency has explicitly stated that once bank account details have been submitted, no subsequent changes will be permitted. This means that if students enter an incorrect account number, IFSC code, or other banking details, they will not be given an opportunity to rectify these errors later. Therefore, students are advised to carefully verify all information before submitting it.

Portal to Remain Open Until June 22

According to the NTA, the facility for submitting bank account details will now remain available until 11:50 PM on June 22, 2026. The agency has clearly urged all eligible students to complete this process in a timely manner to ensure they receive their refunds without any complications.

How to Submit Bank Details?

Candidates must visit the NEET UG 2026 registration portal and log in. After logging in, they need to click on the ‘Refund’ link and enter their bank account details. To ensure the accuracy of the provided information, students also have the option to upload a cancelled cheque.
