When students sign their answer sheets and attendance sheets at the examination center, invigilators and center superintendents will verify these against the signatures printed on the admit cards. If the signatures do not match, immediate investigation and necessary action will be taken. The objective of this measure is to prevent imposters from taking the exam in place of the actual student.
**Crackdown on Solver Gangs**
According to the Board, incidents involving "solvers" (imposters) appearing for exams—often by swapping photographs or using other methods—had come to light in previous years. In such cases, FIRs were lodged against the cheating mafia and involved individuals across several districts. The new signature verification system is expected to significantly curb such irregularities.
UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh stated that students' signatures are being collected during the current registration process to facilitate verification at the time of the examination.
**Registration Schedule Released**
The Board has also released the schedule for applications and fee submission for the 2026-27 academic year. Student applications will be accepted until August 5, while examination fees can be deposited in the treasury until August 10. Subsequently, the facility to deposit the fee with a late fee of ₹100 will be available until August 16.
Schools are required to upload students' educational details to the website by midnight on August 16, while the photo-bearing enrollment list and related documents must be submitted to the board office by September 30. This measure will help make the examination process time-bound and more transparent.
