CBSE New Rules: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a significant decision regarding the new three-language policy. The Board has clarified that the new language rule will not apply to students who are already pursuing their studies under the old regulations; this means that current Class 10 students, as well as many students in Classes 7, 8, and 9, will not face any immediate new rules. This decision brings great relief to students and parents who were uncertain about the new language policy.

**No impact of the new rule on Class 10 students**
According to the new guidelines issued by CBSE, the new three-language policy will not be implemented for students currently studying in Class 10. They will complete their studies and board examinations based on the previously determined subjects and language framework. This ensures there is no additional pressure on the students' preparation or the examination process.

**Relief for students in Classes 7, 8, and 9 as well**
The Board has also clarified that students currently in Classes 7, 8, and 9 will not be required to take a board examination for a third language when they reach Class 10; in other words, students will not suddenly be required to take exams under the new system for languages they are currently studying. This decision is considered significant as it ensures that students' education is not disrupted and they do not face any difficulties due to the new rules.

**Which students will get exemptions?**
Students with special needs (CwSN) will receive exemptions in accordance with the rules. Students studying in CBSE schools located outside India will be exempted from the third Indian language requirement. Foreign students returning to India from abroad will also be granted this exemption. If a student's family moves to another state, the student will be able to continue studying the three languages originally chosen, even in Class 9. In such cases, the concerned school will have to make arrangements for teaching those languages.

The CBSE has advised schools that, if necessary, they may engage new teachers, retired teachers, or teachers from other schools, or arrange for instruction via online and hybrid modes. The Board states that the objective of this new arrangement is not to increase the burden on students but to develop their language comprehension and multilingual capabilities. No student will be allowed to suffer due to this change, and schools will be provided with all necessary support.
