The wait is finally drawing to a close for students awaiting their Maharashtra Board Class 12 results. On April 30, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) announced that the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results would be declared on May 2, 2026. Board Chairman Trigun Kulkarni stated, "Students will be able to check their results online starting at 1:00 PM on Saturday." He also noted that this year, the Maharashtra Board HSC results are being declared three days earlier than last year, whereas the results were announced on May 5 last year.

This year, a total of 1,532,487 students across the state registered for the HSC examination. Of these, 799,773 students were from the Science stream, 380,692 from the Arts stream, 320,152 from the Commerce stream, 27,378 from the Vocational stream, and 4,492 from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Meanwhile, the Class 12 (HSC) examinations for this year were conducted from February 10 to March 11, 2026. The examination was held in two sessions: the first session from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and the second session from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The examination was conducted across all nine divisions of the Maharashtra State Board: Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nagpur, Amravati, Kolhapur, and Konkan. To ensure a "copy-free examination," CCTV cameras were installed in every classroom across more than 3,000 examination centers statewide—a measure implemented for the first time—to ensure strict surveillance. As part of its anti-cheating drive this year, the Board suspended a total of 81 teaching and non-teaching staff members.
