The Nanded district administration in Maharashtra has decided to provide free coaching for medical and engineering entrance examinations to 200 meritorious students from rural families.

The Nanded district administration has taken a commendable step for promising and needy students from rural areas. Considering the drought conditions and financial hardships prevailing in various parts of the state, the administration has decided to offer free coaching for medical and engineering entrance exams to 200 meritorious students from rural backgrounds. Under this initiative, eligible students will receive structured, free preparation for national and state-level competitive examinations, such as NEET, JEE, and MHT-CET. The primary objective is to ensure that financial constraints or a weak economic situation do not prevent any talented student from pursuing higher education.

Who will benefit from this scheme?

The district administration has set certain criteria to avail of this free coaching. The scheme is specifically designed for students from economically disadvantaged families in rural areas. Students currently enrolled in Class 10 at Zilla Parishad schools, high schools, or government-aided private schools in rural areas are eligible. A total of 200 meritorious students will be selected for this special program.

Selection exam to be held in December

According to the information released by the district administration, students will be selected for this coaching program through an entrance examination, which will be conducted in December. The 200 selected students who pass the exam will receive training from expert teachers for medical, engineering, and other academic programs. The district administration has urged all eligible students from rural areas to make the most of this opportunity.

Why is this initiative considered important?

Typically, students from affluent families rely on large coaching institutes—paying lakhs of rupees in fees—to prepare for these rigorous competitive examinations, whereas children from rural and impoverished backgrounds often fall behind due to a lack of financial resources. In the drought-stricken Nanded district, the administration has launched an initiative to provide equal opportunities to rural students, enabling them to secure admission into the country’s top technical and medical institutions.
