The registration process for the UP Special TET 2026 concludes today; applications cannot be submitted without OTR (One Time Registration). Candidates should fill out the form immediately, keeping in mind the rules regarding eligibility and fees.

The deadline for online applications for the Special TET 2026, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), is ending today. According to the official notification issued by the Commission, the final date to register for this prestigious eligibility test is October 4, 2026.

Consequently, interested and eligible candidates who have not yet filled out their forms for any reason can visit the Commission’s official website and complete the application process immediately without wasting time. This is a crucial opportunity for young people aspiring to build a career in teaching within the state’s government and government-aided schools.

Exam Rules for Primary and Upper Primary Levels

Under this examination, papers for two distinct levels are conducted based on the candidates’ educational qualifications. Depending on their eligibility, candidates can apply for Paper-1 (Primary Level) to teach children in classes 1 to 5. Additionally, candidates wishing to teach students in classes 6 to 8 can fill out the form for Paper-2 (Upper Primary Level). Candidates may choose to appear for either one paper or both, based on their preference and the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Required Educational Qualifications for Different Papers

For the Primary Level (Paper-1), candidates are required to have passed Class 12 with the minimum qualifying marks and possess a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Furthermore, candidates holding a graduation degree along with a two-year diploma, or those who have completed graduation with 50% marks and a B.Ed degree, are also considered eligible. On the other hand, for Paper-2, candidates are required to hold a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks along with a B.Ed. or a Diploma in Elementary Education. Students who have completed a four-year B.El.Ed. course after Senior Secondary education are also eligible to apply under the rules of this examination.

Application Fee and One-Time Registration

Candidates who already possess OTR (One-Time Registration) credentials can log in directly using their existing details. Additionally, the application fee varies based on the category. The fee is set at ₹1,000 for candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories. For Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) applicants, the fee is ₹500, while candidates in the differently-abled category are required to pay a fee of only ₹300 via online mode.

Exam Pattern and Important Dates

Both papers of this eligibility test will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) totaling 150 marks. Candidates will be allotted two hours and 30 minutes to complete the exam, and notably, there will be no negative marking. Paper-1 will include questions related to Child Development, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and English/Urdu/Sanskrit.

To qualify for the exam, candidates in the General category must secure a minimum of 60% marks. According to the commission’s schedule, the facility for application corrections will be available on October 8; subsequently, admit cards will be issued on November 1, 2026, and the main examination will be conducted on November 3, 2026, at various centers across the state.
