KVS launches 'Samvida Saathi' portal; now apply for multiple posts from a single platform..
There is good news for young people aspiring to work as contractual teachers or staff in Kendriya Vidyalayas. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has launched the 'Samvida Sathi' portal to streamline the contractual recruitment process. Candidates will no longer need to visit individual Kendriya Vidyalayas or submit separate applications for each; instead, they can create a profile on a single portal and apply for various contractual positions. Under this new system, offline registration or separate registration at the school level will not be valid starting from the 2026-27 academic session.
**What is the Samvida Sathi Portal?**
KVS has introduced a centralized online system for recruiting contractual teaching and non-teaching staff. Candidates can register once on the Samvida Sathi portal to create their profile. Previously, due to varying recruitment processes across different schools, candidates had to apply at multiple locations; the new portal aims to consolidate this process into a single platform.
From the 2026-27 academic year, using this portal will be mandatory for contractual recruitment. Candidates will be able to apply for relevant vacancies listed on the portal and track the status of their applications.
**Which positions are available?**
The portal allows registration for various posts, including PGT, TGT, PRT, Computer Instructor, Special Educator, Counselor, Sports Coach, Yoga Teacher, and Nurse. Educational qualifications will vary depending on the post; candidates may be required to possess qualifications such as Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, Post-Graduation, NET, or a PhD.
A key feature is that there is no application fee; candidates from all categories can apply without any cost.
**Age Limit**
A uniform age limit has not been set for all posts. Individual Kendriya Vidyalayas may specify age-related criteria in their recruitment notifications. Therefore, it is essential to read the vacancy advertisement before applying.
**Selection Process**
There will be no written examination for selection. Schools will shortlist candidates based on their profiles. This may be followed by a walk-in interview and a teaching demonstration. A merit panel of selected candidates will be prepared, and appointments will be made based on requirements.
How to apply?
Candidates can create an account on the portal by providing details such as their name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address. Subsequently, they must complete their profile and upload a photograph, signature, and necessary documents. Once the application process is complete, the confirmation page should be preserved. In case of any technical issues related to the portal, candidates can contact samagamhelpdesk@kvs.gov.in. The helpdesk is available from Monday to Friday, between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
