The results of the Tier-1 examination conducted for recruitment to over 15,700 teaching and non-teaching positions in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) have been released. Candidates who took the examination can now check their results and scorecards by visiting the official website, kvsangathan.nic.in. Candidates can also log in with their registration number and password to check whether they have been selected for the Tier-2 examination. This recruitment process is being conducted to recruit teachers and administrative staff in schools across the country.
Previously, the answer key for the examination was released on January 31, 2026, and objections were invited from candidates. Candidates were also allowed to review their OMR sheets and answers. The examination was held on January 10 and 11, 2026, at various centers across the country.
Recruitment for so many positions in KVS
Recruitment for several important positions is underway in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. This includes 161 Principals, 69 Vice Principals, and 13 Assistant Commissioners. Additionally, there are 1,606 PGTs, 3,069 TGTs, and 166 Librarians. A total of 3,630 positions will be filled, including Primary Teachers, Special Educators, and Music Teachers. 1,207 administrative and other non-teaching positions, such as Administrative Officers, Finance Officers, Junior Translators, Stenographers, and Assistant Section Officers, are also included.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti also has a large number of vacancies.
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has announced 93 Principals and 9 Assistant Commissioners (Academic) positions. 1,513 PGTs, 2,978 TGTs, and 443 Third Language TGTs will be filled. Additionally, 787 vacancies have been announced for non-teaching positions such as Junior Secretariat Assistants, Lab Attendants, and MTS.
Selection Process and Merit Method
Tier-1 was a qualifying exam for PRT, PGT, TGT, and most non-teaching positions. Tier-2 will then be a 100-mark exam, consisting of 60 objective and 40 descriptive questions. Negative marking of 1/4th mark will apply for MCQs. Tier-2 will be followed by an interview, which will also carry 100 marks. 85% of Tier-2 marks and 15% of the interview marks will be added to the final merit list.
Tier-2 Exam in March 2026
Tier-2 exam will be held from March 27 to 31, 2026, for various positions. Exams for Primary Teacher, TGT, PGT, Principal, Stenographer, MTS, and other positions will be conducted in different shifts. Exam centers and cities will be provided to candidates through their login. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official websites of KVS, NVS and CBSE so as not to miss any new updates.
