JSSC: Sudden stay on Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission's recruitment of 864 clerks..
There is significant news for young people in Jharkhand preparing for government jobs. The recruitment process for 864 clerk positions, proposed through the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), has been put on hold for the time being. The state government has decided that recruitment for these posts will now be conducted under the new clerical appointment rules rather than the old procedure. Consequently, the requisitions previously submitted for these posts will be withdrawn. Reportedly, the recruitment was proposed for a total of 864 clerk positions across the Urban Development and Housing Department; Mines and Geology Department; Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development Department; and the Higher and Technical Education Department.
**When will the recruitment process begin afresh?**
The JSSC had previously issued a recruitment advertisement for these posts in the 2023-24 fiscal year, and thousands of candidates had applied. However, the entire process has now been halted pending the implementation of the new rules. The Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha has instructed the concerned departments to withdraw their earlier requisitions. Once consent is received from all departments, a formal letter regarding the withdrawal of requisitions will be sent to the JSSC. Subsequently, the recruitment process will commence anew in accordance with the new regulations.
JSSC Chairman Prashant Kumar regarding this matter, he stated that the state government has notified new rules for the recruitment process, and the Commission will adhere to them. Therefore, the current recruitment process for the 864 clerk posts has been temporarily suspended. The entire future process will be carried out in compliance with the new regulations.
**Disappointment among candidates**
However, this decision means that candidates awaiting the clerk recruitment will have to wait longer. All eyes are now on when the new recruitment advertisement under the new rules will be issued and what arrangements the government will make for candidates who had previously applied.
