Jharkhand Exam Reforms: Following reports of irregularities in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), the state government is working to reform the examination process. A high-level committee, chaired by the Development Commissioner, has been constituted to improve the functioning of both commissions; the Secretaries of the Personnel and Finance departments have also been included as members.

This committee will submit recommendations to the government regarding not only the operational procedures of the commissions but also the service conditions of their officials and staff, including the appointment and terms of service for the chairpersons and members. Meanwhile, the state government has directed that changes be made to the rules governing various examinations to rectify existing flaws.

**Emphasis on CBT Mode and Multi-Stage Examinations**
To eliminate the risk of incidents like paper leaks, the state government is considering conducting examinations in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has already prepared a proposal to this effect. Additionally, conducting examinations in multiple stages is also being considered.

**Recruitment for 23,610 Posts**
A total of 23,610 posts are scheduled to be filled this year through the JPSC and JSSC. Of these, 1,645 posts are to be filled via the JPSC, and 21,965 via the JSSC. These figures include not only the posts already advertised by the commissions but also requisitions received from various departments for which advertisements have not yet been published.

Recruitment processes for 798 posts under the JPSC were underway but have been halted or postponed. Meanwhile, advertisements for another 847 posts are yet to be published. Similarly, recruitment processes for 20,206 posts are ongoing under the JSSC, while advertisements for 1,759 posts are pending publication.
