JoSAA Round 1 Mock Seat Allotment: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) released the Round 1 mock seat allotment results today, June 8, 2026. Candidates who completed their registration and choice filling—and saved their preferences—by 8 PM on June 7 can now view their probable seat allotment on the official JoSAA website.

This is not the actual seat allotment but a trial allocation conducted before the counseling process officially begins. Its purpose is to give candidates an idea of which institute and branch they might secure based on their current choices, JEE rank, category, and available seats.

Candidates can still modify their choices.
After viewing the mock allotment, candidates have the opportunity to revise their choices.

They can:

Change the order of preferred colleges and branches.
Add new choices.
Remove unwanted choices.
Set priorities based on probable cut-offs and career goals.
Round 2 mock seat allotment to be released on June 10
Candidates who save or modify their choices by 5 PM on June 9, 2026, will be included in the second round. The results for the Round 2 mock seat allotment will be released on June 10, 2026. Once both mock allotment phases are complete, the actual seat allotment process will begin based on the candidates' final choices.

What is Mock Seat Allotment?
The mock seat allotment released by JoSAA helps candidates assess their probable admission status. Based on this, students can decide whether they are satisfied with their current options or wish to modify their choices to secure a better college and branch.

Most importantly, the mock allotment does not finalize a candidate's seat; students are free to alter their list of preferred colleges and courses.

Admissions to over 67,000 seats
This year, admissions to more than 67,000 seats across IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs nationwide will be conducted through JoSAA counseling. This makes the mock seat allotment crucial for candidates, as it offers them an opportunity to refine their strategy before the actual counseling process.

Candidates are advised to carefully analyze their choices based on the mock allotment and make any necessary changes before June 11.
