Jamia Millia Islamia has extended the deadline for submitting admission applications. Students wishing to register can visit the official website: admission.jmi.ac.in.

This comes as great news for students preparing for higher education. Jamia Millia Islamia—one of the country’s premier universities—has released its new prospectus for the 2026-27 academic session. Additionally, the deadline for applying for admission has also been extended. This comprehensive document, spanning approximately 150 pages, provides every essential detail regarding admissions—including available courses, eligibility criteria, fee structures, examination schedules, and application deadlines.

This year, Jamia has increased the number of entrance examination centers. While exams were previously conducted in 8 cities, the number has now been expanded to 11. Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj are the new cities that have been added to the list. Cities such as Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal were already included in the network. This change will provide significant relief to students residing in remote areas, as they will no longer be required to undertake long journeys to appear for their examinations.

Separate Fee Structure for International Students

Every year, a large number of international students come to Jamia to pursue their studies. This year, the university has revised the fee structure applicable to them. Fees have now been categorized based on different geographical regions—specifically SAARC nations, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America. This approach aims to ensure a more balanced and equitable fee structure for students hailing from diverse countries.

Application Deadline Extended

Previously, the final deadline for submitting applications was set for March 25. This date has now been extended to April 2, 2026. Consequently, students who have not yet applied now have an additional opportunity to do so. The university has also announced that for courses where admission is granted based on scores from exams such as JEE Main, NATA, NEET, NCET, and CUET, the application window will remain open for 10 days following the declaration of the respective examination results. Additionally, applications for vacant seats in FYUP courses will be accepted until April 10, 2026.

What’s Special in the Prospectus?

This 150-page prospectus provides details regarding the eligibility criteria, examination pattern, fee structure, required documents, and the complete schedule for every course. Students are advised to read it carefully before applying to avoid any errors later on.
