JEE-NEET preparation will now be provided in schools, and model schools will be built in this state.
It is often seen that students resort to expensive coaching institutes to prepare for these exams. Coaching fees in big cities are very high, which is beyond the reach of every family.
Today, after 12th grade, students have to work hard to pursue a good education and a promising career. Admission to engineering colleges requires tough exams like JEE and medical colleges require NEET. These two exams are considered among the most prestigious examinations in the country. Every year, lakhs of students appear for these exams, but due to limited seats, only a few succeed. It is often seen that students resort to expensive coaching institutes to prepare for these exams. Coaching fees in big cities are very high, which is beyond the reach of every family.
This poses a significant challenge, especially for children from rural and economically disadvantaged families. Many talented students are unable to prepare well simply due to lack of money, leaving their dreams unfulfilled. Recognizing this problem, the Bihar government has taken an important decision. Now, even students studying in government schools in the state will be prepared for JEE, NEET, and other competitive exams. To this end, a model school will be opened in each block, where the level of education will be tailored to the competitive exams.
Preparation will begin as early as 9th grade
The most significant feature of this scheme is that students will be prepared for competitive exams as early as 9th grade. Typically, students begin preparation in 11th or 12th grade, resulting in limited time and a long syllabus. However, model schools will now strengthen students' foundations from the beginning. Experienced teachers and subject experts will teach in these schools. Regular test series will be conducted for students to better understand the exam pattern. Additionally, doubt-clearing sessions, career counseling, and a modern library will be provided. Better study material will be made available, eliminating the need for separate coaching.
Model Schools to Open in Every Block
The government plans to establish model schools in all 543 blocks of the state. This will provide students in villages and small towns with facilities comparable to those in larger cities. This is considered a major step towards equalizing the level of education. These schools are scheduled to begin this academic year. If implemented properly, thousands of students will directly benefit. This could also increase the number of students succeeding in competitive examinations in the state.
How to Get Admission
Admission to model schools will not be granted directly. An entrance exam will be conducted under the State Council of Educational Research and Training. Students who pass the exam will be admitted based on merit. This process will ensure a conducive learning environment. Selected students will receive regular tutoring based on competitive exams, and their progress will be monitored.
