JEE Mains 2026: Registration for JEE Main exam will start this month, check eligibility, fees and other details..

An important update is available for students preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026. According to details shared by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the application process for the first session will begin in October 2025. Therefore, it is expected that the NTA will issue a notification and begin the application process soon.

Where and How to Fill the Form
The JEE Main application form can only be filled online by visiting the NTA's official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Applications will not be accepted through any other means. Submission of the prescribed application fee is mandatory; forms without the fee will not be accepted.

Registration Fee
Candidates from the unreserved category will be required to pay a fee of ₹1,000 upon filling the exam form. Candidates from the General, OBC, and General EWS categories will be required to pay ₹900. Female candidates from the unreserved, General, OBC, and General EWS categories will be required to pay ₹800. The application fee for SC/ST/Transgender/PWD categories is ₹500. The fee can be paid online.

Eligibility and Criteria
To appear for the JEE Main exam, students must have passed the 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Students who are currently studying in the 12th grade are also eligible. There is no age limit to appear for the exam.

NTA Advises Document Preparation
The NTA recently advised all students to prepare and update their documents to avoid any problems during registration. According to the NTA, students should update their documents as per the following points:

A- Aadhaar Card: The Aadhaar card must be updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per the 10th grade certificate), latest photo, address, and father's name.
B- UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities): The UDID card must be valid, updated, and renewed as needed.
C- Category Certificate: Students belonging to EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL categories should get their category certificate renewed or updated.
