A crucial update has emerged for the millions of students aspiring to pursue engineering studies. The City Slip for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 examination is expected to be released soon. This slip serves to inform students in advance about the specific city where their examination center will be located. This facilitates easier planning regarding travel and accommodation arrangements for the students. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the body responsible for conducting the examination, will publish this slip on its official website, from where candidates can download it.

When Will the JEE Main Session 2 Exam Be Held?

According to the examination calendar released by the NTA, the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 examination is scheduled to be conducted between April 2 and April 9, 2026. This examination will take place at numerous test centers established across various cities throughout the country. As is the case every year, lakhs of students are expected to appear for this examination this time as well. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official website for every update related to the examination.

When Will the City Slip Be Released?

The NTA typically releases the City Slip approximately 10 to 15 days prior to the examination. Based on patterns observed in previous years, it is anticipated that this slip could be released between March 15 and March 21, 2026. This slip merely informs candidates of the city where their examination will be held, whereas the complete address of the examination center is provided in the Admit Card.

When Will the JEE Main Admit Card Be Released?

Following the release of the City Slip, the next essential document is the Admit Card. No candidate is granted entry into the examination center without a valid Admit Card. Typically, the Admit Card is released approximately three days before the examination. Consequently, there is a strong possibility that the JEE Main Session 2 Admit Card will be released during the last week of March.

Is the City Slip Essential? The primary objective of the City Slip is to provide candidates with advance information regarding their examination city. This assists students traveling from distant cities in planning their travel arrangements. Since candidates often have to travel to a different state or city to appear for the examination, this slip proves to be highly beneficial for them.
