There is welcome news for candidates applying for JEE Main 2027 (Session 1). The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates who made errors in their application forms to submit a fresh application. This facility is also available to those who have already received an application number or paid the examination fee. However, before filling out a new form, candidates must carefully review the relevant rules and deadlines. The fee paid for the previous application will neither be refunded nor adjusted toward the new application.

What to do if there is an error in the application?
The NTA has taken this decision following requests from candidates regarding errors in their JEE Main 2027 (Session 1) application forms. Candidates who have identified mistakes in their initial application may now submit a new one. Those opting to fill out a new form will need to re-enter all required information and upload their photograph, signature, and other necessary documents. Upon submitting a new application, the candidate will be issued a separate application number.

Which application will be considered valid?
According to the NTA, an application will be considered valid only if the examination fee has been successfully paid and a confirmation page has been generated. If a candidate submits a new form but fails to pay the fee or does not receive a confirmation page, their original, successfully submitted application will remain the valid one.

Important Dates for JEE Main 2027 Applications
Candidates should pay close attention to the following deadlines:

November 22, 2026: The last date to submit an application and pay the examination fee (without a late fee) is 11:50 PM.
November 23 to 26, 2026: New applications can be submitted with a late fee. Applications will be accepted until 11:50 PM on the final day.
November 27 to 29, 2026: A correction window will be available for making limited changes to the application.

Previous Fees Will Not Be Refunded
The NTA has clarified that the fees paid for previously submitted applications will not be refunded. Furthermore, these fees cannot be adjusted toward the cost of a new application. Therefore, candidates who only need to correct certain details are advised to use the 'correction window' rather than submitting a new application form.

What Happens If More Than One Application Is Submitted?
Having multiple application numbers does not grant a candidate the right to appear for the examination multiple times in the same session. Attempting to take the examination—or actually taking it—using multiple application numbers may lead to action under the rules concerning the use of 'unfair means.' However, merely possessing multiple application numbers, without having used them to appear for the examination, will not, in itself, be considered a case of using unfair means.

Whom to Contact in Case of Issues
For any issues related to the application process, candidates may contact the NTA Help Desk by calling 011-40759000 or 011-69227700. Candidates may also send their queries via email to jeemain@nta.ac.in.
