Registration for JEE Main 2026 will begin in October 2025, and the exam will be held in two sessions in January and April 2026. Candidates can fill out their online forms by visiting jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2026 Registration: There's good news for millions of students pursuing engineering careers. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon begin the JEE Main 2026 registration process. The application process will begin in October 2025, although the official date has not yet been announced. Once the application link is activated, students can fill out the online form directly by visiting jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can register using the methods described below.

This time too, the JEE Main exam will be held in two sessions. The first session will be held in January 2026 and the second in April 2026. The JEE Main exam is conducted in two papers. Paper 1 is for admission to BE and BTech, which offer admission to NITs, IIITs, and other government technical institutes. Candidates securing top ranks in this exam qualify for JEE Advanced, which opens the door to admission to IITs. Paper 2 is for admission to the B.Arch and B.Planning courses.

Exam in Two Shifts

The exam will be held in two shifts: the first shift will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Candidates can apply only for Session 1 (January 2026). If students wish to appear for Session 2 (April 2026) later, they can use the same application number and pay the fee separately. Students who wish to appear for Session 2 only will be able to apply during the April 2026 registration.

To register, candidates should first visit the website jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on the JEE Main 2026 Registration Link on the home page. On the new page, register online and log in to your account. Then, fill out the application form and pay the fees. After submitting, download the page and keep a printout for future reference.
