The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 is scheduled to be held on May 17. Admission to various undergraduate courses at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is granted exclusively through the JEE Advanced examination. Students who qualify in the JEE Main 2026 examination may apply for JEE Advanced until May 2, 2026. Subsequently, students who successfully clear this examination gain the opportunity to pursue their studies at various IIT institutions, including IIT Delhi. Let us explore which students are eligible to apply for scholarships at IIT Delhi.

Essentially, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is one of the 23 IITs established across India, serving as a premier hub for training, research, and development in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. According to the institute's official website, IIT Delhi is committed to fostering academic excellence by providing support throughout its students' educational journeys. To ensure that no student's education is disrupted due to financial constraints, IIT Delhi extends assistance through scholarships, fellowships, and various other forms of support.

**Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship**
This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students in Engineering and Technology, as well as to students enrolled in MA, MSc, and MPP programs. It is granted to approximately 25 percent of the student body whose annual family income falls within the limit of ₹8 lakh. Students who receive this scholarship are also exempt from paying tuition fees. To ensure the renewal of this scholarship, students are required to maintain a minimum Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0.

**Institute-funded Scholarships**
If the number of students eligible for the MCM scholarship exceeds 25 percent, IIT Delhi grants a tuition fee waiver to an additional 10 percent of the students, based solely on their economic status.

**Tuition Fee Exemption for SC, ST, and Differently-abled Students**
Regardless of their parents' income, all students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently-abled categories are granted an exemption from tuition fees.

Free Food and Pocket Money
This covers basic food charges; additionally, students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are provided with a monthly pocket allowance of ₹1,000 for a specific duration (depending on the course). A student is eligible for this allowance if their family's annual income is less than ₹8 lakh. To avail of this benefit, students are required to upload valid proof of family income annually.

Donor Scholarships
Several donor scholarships are available for undergraduate students at IIT Delhi. These scholarships are awarded based on criteria such as family income, course of study, gender, academic branch, JEE rank, and academic performance (SGPA/CGPA). These scholarships have been established through grants provided by alumni, individuals, trusts, and various organizations.
