This is big news for millions of students dreaming of studying at an IIT. The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has released the complete schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced 2026, i.e., JEE Advanced 2026. This examination is the gateway to admission to B.Tech and other undergraduate engineering courses in all IITs across the country. Therefore, this information is crucial for students who have been preparing for this exam for a long time.

According to the information released by IIT Roorkee, JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026. This will be a computer-based test, and two papers will be conducted on the same day. All information related to the examination is available on the official website jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates can visit the website to view the complete notification.

When will registration begin?

The application process for JEE Advanced 2026 will begin in April 2026. Candidates who qualify in JEE Main 2026 will be able to register online from April 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM to May 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM. For foreign nationals, OCI, and PIO candidates, the application process will run from April 6, 2026, to May 2, 2026.

It will also be mandatory to submit the examination fee along with the application. The last date for fee payment is May 4, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Applications will not be considered valid if the fee is not paid on time.

When will the admit card be available?

The JEE Advanced 2026 admit card will be available for download from May 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Candidates can download their admit cards until May 17, 2026, at 2:30 PM. Entry to the examination center will not be permitted without an admit card, so students are advised to download and print it well in advance and keep it safe.

How will the exam be conducted?

The JEE Advanced 2026 exam will be conducted in two papers on the same day.

Paper-1 will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Paper-2 will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Appearing for both papers is mandatory to be considered for ranking. If a candidate attempts only one paper, they will not be included in the ranking. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English.

Who can appear for JEE Advanced 2026?

Only candidates who secure a rank within the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main 2026 in two sessions. The first session will be from January 21 to January 30, 2026, and the second session will be from April 1 to April 10, 2026.  The list of eligible candidates for JEE Advanced will be prepared based on the performance in both sessions.
