JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Tomorrow: Know All the Essentials Here—From Dress Code to Exam Guidelines
Students have been advised to reach the exam center well in advance to avoid any issues during biometric verification and frisking procedures. Carrying certain essential documents will be mandatory for entry into the examination center.
JEE Advanced 2026: JEE Advanced 2026—considered one of the country’s toughest engineering entrance examinations—will be conducted on Sunday, May 17. This year, the examination is being organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee across various examination centers nationwide. It is crucial for candidates appearing for the exam to strictly adhere to the rules regarding admit cards, dress codes, and examination centers. The JEE Advanced 2026 examination will be conducted in two shifts.
First Paper to Begin at 9:00 AM
The first paper will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second paper is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates belonging to the PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category will be allotted an additional one hour of time. The examination will be conducted in both Hindi and English, and students will have the option to switch between languages during the exam. The admit card contains essential details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, examination center address, reporting time, and important instructions. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in, until 2:30 PM on May 17.
What is Mandatory to Carry to the Exam Center?
Students appearing for the examination are advised to reach the center ahead of schedule to ensure a smooth process during biometric verification and frisking. Carrying specific essential documents is mandatory for gaining entry into the examination center. Candidates must carry their admit card, one original photo identity proof, and two passport-sized photographs. Additionally, candidates are permitted to carry a pen, a pencil, and a transparent water bottle.
Complete Ban on Carrying Certain Items
No electronic gadgets of any kind or suspicious items will be permitted inside the examination center. Devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, health bands, calculators, electronic pens, pen drives, and scanners will be strictly prohibited. Furthermore, items such as wallets, handbags, cameras, goggles, written notes, printed papers, writing pads, geometry boxes, scales, erasers, pencil boxes, and any form of communication device will not be allowed inside the examination hall.
Strict Dress Code Guidelines Issued
IIT Roorkee has also issued specific instructions regarding the dress code for candidates. Students have been advised not to arrive at the examination center wearing any form of jewelry or items made of metal. They have been asked to refrain from wearing items such as rings, chains, bracelets, pendants, earrings, nose pins, badges, and brooches. Additionally, wearing clothing with large buttons is also prohibited. Candidates are advised to wear open footwear, such as slippers or sandals. The wearing of amulets or any kind of charms inside the examination center will also not be permitted.
