For students across the country aspiring to become teachers, news of significant relief has emerged this time around. There has been a massive increase in the number of seats available for admission into the four-year Integrated B.Ed. course, thereby providing opportunities to a greater number of students. Notably, this course will now be available at several major and prestigious institutions across the country. While previously there was fierce competition due to a limited number of seats, the increased seat count has now vastly expanded the opportunities available to students.

Record Increase in Seats
This year, the number of seats in the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) has seen an increase of over 350 percent. While there were 6,100 seats last year, that figure has now risen to 22,950. This will provide more students with the opportunity to secure admission into this course.

Major Expansion in the Number of Institutions
Previously, this course was available in only a limited number of colleges; however, it is now being introduced across 285 institutions. In 2025, the course was offered in just 77 institutions—a number that has since seen rapid expansion. This initiative is regarded as a crucial step toward strengthening the country's education system.

Opportunity to Study at Premier Institutions
Students will now have the opportunity to pursue this course at some of the country's most prestigious institutions. These include IITs, NITs, Central Universities, and top-tier colleges affiliated with the University of Delhi. Prominent institutions offering the course include Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Jodhpur, Lady Shri Ram College, Miranda House, and Gargi College.

Entrance Exam and Applications
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the entrance examination for admission into this course. The examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on April 17. This time, a total of 92,776 students have applied—the highest figure recorded to date.

Exam Pattern and Language Options
The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and will have a duration of 3 hours. The paper will be administered in 13 languages. It will consist of 181 questions, out of which 160 must be answered. The questions will be based on the Class 12 syllabus.
