Students studying in 9th-grade schools across the country can apply for ISRO's YUVIKA 2026. Students studying in Grade 9 as of January 1, 2026, from any school across the country can apply. ISRO launched YUVIKA 2026 to introduce students to space science and technology and promote STEM careers. The overall objective of YUVIKA is to provide school students with a basic understanding of space technology, space science, and its applications. ISRO has designed this program to encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at an early age.
Application Process to Begin February 27
The application process for ISRO YUVIKA 2026 will begin on February 27, 2026. The deadline for applications is March 31. According to the schedule announced by ISRO, the first selection list will be released on April 13, 2026, while the second confirmed list will be released on April 20. The YUVIKA program will be held from May 11 to 22, 2026.

Regarding ISRO's YUVIKA 2026 selection process, several criteria are established. Under this, Class 8 exam marks will be given a 50% weighting. Students studying in village schools will receive an additional 15% weighting. 10% marks will be awarded for performance in online quizzes. Similarly, participation in science exhibitions and co-curricular activities over the past three years will receive a 2% to 10% weighting depending on the level. Additional marks will be awarded for achievements in NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, Olympiads, and sports competitions.
ISRO will cover the cost of accommodation, food, and tickets. YUVIKA 2026, or internships, will be held at nine ISRO centers, including the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Satish Dhawan Space Center, and U.R. Rao Satellite Center. Candidates selected for this internship program will be required to travel to the center. Travel and return AC train tickets, accommodation, and food will be covered by ISRO.
