Alternatively, if a candidate has completed an M.Sc. in addition to a BE/B.Tech (with 65% marks), the GATE exam is not required; however, a written test is conducted alongside the interview. Candidates holding an MBA degree in addition to a B.Tech degree are also eligible to appear for the exam and interview. Furthermore, those who have completed an ME or M.Tech with 60% marks are eligible for recruitment; the maximum age limit in this case is 30 years.

The salary for the Scientist/Engineer-SC role ranges from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 (Level 10-17). One can progress up to the rank of ‘Distinguished Scientist’ at Level 16 (₹2,05,400–2,24,400) through the merit promotion scheme, subject to satisfactory performance.
Scientist/Engineer-SD
Qualification
Candidates for this post must hold a PhD. A live register for PhD candidates is maintained on the ISRO website. Selection is based on an interview. The maximum age limit is 35 years.
Additional conditions are as follows:
1. ME/MTech/MS/MSc or equivalent, with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5/10 or higher.
2. BE/BTech or equivalent, with an aggregate of at least 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84/10 or higher.
3. B.Sc or equivalent, with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5/10 or higher.

The salary for this role under the pay matrix ranges from ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700 (Level 11). One can progress to the rank of Distinguished Scientist at Level 16 (salary range ₹2,05,400–2,24,400) through the merit promotion scheme, subject to satisfactory performance.
Technician – B
Qualification
Candidates must possess an SSLC qualification plus an ITI/NTC/NAC certificate (from NCVT, based on a course of at least two years). Selection involves a written test and a skill test; the final selection is primarily based on the marks obtained in the written test, while the skill test is merely qualifying in nature. The upper age limit for this post is 35 years.
Salary
The salary for this role within the pay matrix ranges from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 (Level 3). Subject to satisfactory performance, this can rise to the post of Assistant Engineer (Level 12) with a pay range of ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200 through the merit promotion scheme.
Technical Assistant

Candidates must possess a First Class Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline—aligned with the nature of the job at the Centre—from a recognized state board.

The salary for this role within the pay matrix ranges from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 (Level 7). Subject to satisfactory performance, this can rise to the post of Technical Officer-SG (Level 13-A) with a pay range of ₹1,31,100 to ₹2,16,600 through the merit promotion scheme.
Scientific Assistant
