An important point for students to note is that different minimum passing marks have been prescribed for different classes. To pass the ICSE (Class 10) examination, a student must secure a minimum of 33% marks, whereas for the ISC (Class 12) examination, 35% marks are required. This distinction exists because the academic standard of Class 12 is considered more rigorous than that of Class 10.

How Many Students Failed the ICSE Exam?
 In the ICSE examination, 256,590 candidates passed, while only 2,131 candidates were unsuccessful. In the ISC examination, 102,414 candidates passed, with a mere 902 candidates failing. In the ICSE results, the pass percentage for students belonging to the General Category stood at 99.26%. Similarly, the pass percentages for other categories were: Other Backward Classes (OBC) at 99.24%, Scheduled Tribes (ST) at 98.07%, and Scheduled Castes (SC) at 98.76%.

 The Board has also provided an opportunity for students to improve their results in the ICSE Class 10 and 12 examinations. For this purpose, students can register for improvement examinations between May 8 and May 14, 2026. These examinations will commence on June 15, 2026, and the results are expected in July. Under this regulation, students are permitted to appear for examinations in a maximum of two subjects.
