IPS Training: IPS i.e. Indian Police Service is one of the three most prestigious All India Services (IAS, IPS, IFS) in the country. Selection for IPS also happens after passing all the stages of the UPSC Civil Services Examination with good rank. After final selection in UPSC, fresh recruits are sent for training. Today we will learn about things like the IPS training schedule, salary, and training center.

IPS training takes place at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. But before this, a four-month foundation course has to be done at LBSNAA, Mussoorie. This is common for both IAS and IPS. After this the training of IAS and IPS becomes separate.

IPS training has four parts
– Three months foundation course at LBSNAA, Mussoorie.
-Phase-1 training (11 months basic course) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad.
-6 months of District Practical Training in the concerned cadre.
-Back to SVPNPA for one month of Phase-2 training.

IPS gets a salary of pay scale 15,600-39,100, pay grade 5400. After completing the training, along with the basic salary, many types of allowances and facilities are also available. Which includes a car, bungalow, guard, etc.

How long does a trainee IPS have to do physical training?
Trainee IPS has to do physical training for about 80 minutes in the morning for the first five to six months. After this it increases to 40 minutes. Apart from this, one has to attend classes for four to five hours. Which starts after breakfast at nine in the morning. It is necessary to play games for 40 to 50 minutes in the evening.
