India Post GDS 1st Merit List 2026 OUT: The Indian Postal Department has published the first merit list for the GDS recruitment. A large number of candidates were waiting for this list. Candidates who participated in this recruitment can check the circle-wise merit list by visiting the official website, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
The India Post GDS result has been released as a circle-wise merit list, which includes the names and registration numbers of the selected candidates. Category-wise cut-off marks have also been released along with the results.
Report before March 23rd
Shortlisted candidates must have their documents verified at the divisional office of the division for which they have been selected on or before March 23rd. Candidates must report with all required documents in original and two sets of photocopies.
Over 28,000 Vacancies to be Filled
This recruitment drive will fill 28,636 GDS vacancies in the Indian Postal Service. The department has released the first merit list. The category-wise vacancies are as follows:

A large number of positions are available in several states. Uttar Pradesh has announced 3,169 positions, Maharashtra 3,553 positions, West Bengal 2,983 positions, Madhya Pradesh 2,102 positions, and Tamil Nadu 2,009 positions. This includes 1,344 positions in Bihar, 1,191 in Odisha, 1,155 in Chhattisgarh, 908 in Jharkhand, and 634 in Rajasthan. A total of 38 positions are available in the Delhi Circle. Knowledge of the local language is mandatory for each state.

Candidates have been selected through a merit list prepared solely based on their 10th-grade marks. Candidates included in the merit list will need to go to the respective divisional head for document verification. The next merit list will be released after all formalities are completed.

Go to the GDS Recruitment section.
Now, click on the option 'Shortlisted Candidates: Schedule-1, January-2026'.
Select the relevant circle.
The merit list will appear on the screen.
Find your name in the list.
