IIT-JAM 2027: IIT Kharagpur has extended the application deadline for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2027. Registration for this entrance examination can now be completed until October 22. Previously, the application deadline for the IIT-JAM examination was October 19. This provides another opportunity for candidates who wish to appear for the entrance exam but missed the initial application deadline.
According to the schedule provided on the IIT JAM 2027 portal, the application correction window will open on November 10. However, candidates will be required to pay a fee for any corrections made.

Entrance Examination Schedule
The IIT JAM 2027 entrance examination will be held on February 14, 2027, in two sessions. The morning session, scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, will include papers for Chemistry, Geology, and Mathematics. The second session, taking place from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, will cover papers for Biotechnology, Economics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics.

Application Fee

Candidates may choose one or two test papers, subject to the prescribed paper combinations and examination sessions. The application fee varies based on the candidate's category and the number of test papers selected. For a single test paper, female candidates and those belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories are required to pay a fee of ₹1,000. For all other candidates, the fee is ₹2,000.

For two test papers, the application fee for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates is ₹1,350, while other candidates are required to pay ₹2,700.

Admission to 89 Postgraduate Courses
The JAM 2027 entrance examination will facilitate admission to 89 postgraduate courses in science and related subjects across 23 IITs in the country for the 2027-28 academic session. IIT Kharagpur is responsible for conducting this examination.
