IIT JAM 2026: Registration for IIT JAM begins; Know some important things before applying..
IIT JAM 2026: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will start the registration process for the IIT JAM 2026 exam from today. Students who want to do a master's from prestigious higher education institutions can apply for this entrance exam from today. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the official website jam2026.iitb.ac.in or joaps.iitb.ac.in.
As per the schedule, the registration process for IIT JAM 2026 will be completed through the Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) from September 5 to October 12, 2025.

Personal email and mobile number will be required to register. It is worth noting that all communications will be done through the candidate's email and mobile number only. So use your personal and valid email and mobile number.
Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application form; even those appearing in two exam papers must submit the same application form. Applicants must remember that applying more than once may result in rejection of the application.
Things to remember for registration
Class 10 (SSC) mark sheet or certificate is mandatory.
Candidates must upload their recent coloured, passport-sized photograph with a white or light coloured background while applying. It should be in JPEG/JPG format, with a size between 50 kB and 200 kB. It is important to note that the photograph should show the candidate's face clearly and without any shadow, mask, or coloured glasses. A quality photograph may result in rejection of your application.
For signature, candidates must use black or dark blue ink on white paper, get it professionally scanned, and upload it in JPEG/JPG format (50 kB to 150 kB).
Category certificates (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST) must follow the official formats and must be issued after April 1, 2025.
Disabled candidates must submit a valid disability certificate as per the guidelines.
IIT JAM is a national-level entrance exam for admission to Master's. Through this, candidates get an entrance to postgraduate programs - MSc, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, and Integrated PhD in 22 IITs and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
IIT JAM 2026 Application: How to Apply?
To apply, candidates have to follow the steps given below:
First of all go to the official website jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
Register by entering your name, email, mobile number, and password.
Once the registration is complete, an enrollment ID and OTP will be sent for login.
Now, candidates can fill the application form through JOAPS portal.
Upload all the information and required documents (photo, signature, category certificate, proof of date of birth) in the application.
Pay the application fee.
Submit the duly filled application form and take a printout.
