IIT Healthcare Training Center: India is called a country of villages. More than 60 percent of India's population still lives in villages, but there is still a lack of health services in the villages. Although many health workers are taking charge in the village, many of them do not have a proper medical diploma or certificate. In such a situation, they are called quacks, but now certified health workers will be able to work in villages as well. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has taken a big step in this regard, under which IIT Kharagpur has started a Healthcare Training Center.

IIT Kharagpur has started a Healthcare Training Center named School for Skills Healthcare and Technology. This center will mainly provide healthcare training to rural youth. Many courses related to healthcare will be conducted in the center. All the courses are to be conducted in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

A certificate will be given on completion of the course, and training will be given in the hospital.

After completing the course conducted by the new Healthcare Center of IIT Kharagpur, the students will be given a certificate by the National Skill Development Corporation. At the same time, after completion of the course, the students will get a chance to work in the super-specialty hospital located on the campus of the institute, so that they can get practical training.

Admissions will start in November. Apply for these courses
IIT Kharagpur is going to start the application process for admission to its Healthcare Training Center from November 2025. Under this, the center will admit 150 students every year. Courses related to General Duty Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, and Phlebotomist will be conducted in the center.

The center of IIT will be expanded.

Director of IIT Kharagpur Prof. Regarding the establishment of the centre, Suman Chakraborty said that we aim to prepare such a healthcare workforce that can provide its services to the villages. He said that the courses may expand in the coming years. This will create employment opportunities in the health sector.
