IIT Admission: Every child dreams of studying at IIT. However, for this one has to work hard and pass the JEE Advanced exam, which is highly competitive. For the year 2025-26, IIT has made a big change in undergraduate admission. Now not only through JEE Advance, but students who show excellence in sports, fine arts, and science Olympiad will also be able to get admission to the prestigious IIT. Such students can take admission through the Special Admission Channel.
This admission process will run as per the terms and conditions laid down by IIT. The first step has been taken by IIT Madras, which has launched three different admission channels.
Many Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have started the process of admission to Undergraduate (UG) for the academic year 2025-26 through dedicated channels in Olympiad achievements, sports excellence, and fine arts and culture.

IIT Madras opens three new avenues
SEA - Sports Excellence Admission- Students who have excelled in sports at the national or international level can apply through this scheme. The special thing is that through this, students can also choose IIT Indore as their priority.
FACE - Fine Arts and Culture Excellence- This path is open for top students in cultural disciplines like art, music, dance, and theatre.
SCOPE - Science Olympiad Excellence Admissions- This special channel has been created for students who shine in Science Olympiad. It is worth noting that applications for these three channels can be made from the undergraduate admissions website of IIT Madras.
Admission will be given to these institutes.
IIT Kanpur will admit students through the Olympiad channel and will provide detailed guidance and access to the portal through its official website.
IIT Gandhinagar has also announced admission through Olympiad, the specific criteria and guidelines of which have been published on its website.
IIT Bombay will admit students to its BS Mathematics program through the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO). Admission details are available on the Department of Mathematics website.
IIT Indore will participate in the SEA channel in collaboration with IIT Madras. Although the information is available on the academic website of IIT Indore, candidates will have to apply through the SEA portal managed by IIT Madras.
