An improvement in student performance has been observed in the JEE Advanced 2026 examination for admission to IITs. This year, over 10,000 female students qualified for the exam—a milestone reached for the first time in the last six years. However, despite the rise in the number of qualifying female candidates, there has been only a marginal increase in their share of admissions to IITs. Details regarding the exam results and seat allocation were revealed in a report by the Joint Implementation Committee of IIT Roorkee. According to the report, female students secured 3,851 out of the total 18,861 admission seats.
