IISc Launches 3 New B.Tech Courses; Admissions to be Based on JEE Advanced Scores..
There is good news for students aspiring to pursue a B.Tech degree at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. The institute has introduced three new B.Tech programs for the 2026 academic session: B.Tech in Materials Science and Engineering, B.Tech in Mechanics and Computing, and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering. Admission to these three new courses will be granted based on scores obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)—or JEE Advanced—and through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 counseling process.
Currently, IISc Bengaluru offers two undergraduate programs: the Bachelor of Science (Research) and the B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing. The institute admits students to the B.Tech (Mathematics and Computing) program via the IISc admissions portal, based on their JEE Advanced scores. According to the institute, these new programs are designed to prepare the next generation of undergraduate engineers who will take the lead in the fields of research, development, and innovation.

This year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is the organizing institute for JEE Advanced 2026. The date for the JEE Advanced 2026 examination has been scheduled for May 17. Only those students who have qualified in the JEE Main examination and rank among the top 2.50 lakh candidates are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. A candidate is permitted to attempt the JEE Advanced examination a maximum of two times within two consecutive years; furthermore, to appear for the exam, candidates must have passed their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
When Will Admit Cards Be Available?
IIT Roorkee has officially announced the schedule for the JEE Advanced examination, including the dates for the issuance of admit cards. Candidates appearing for the examination will be able to download their admit cards starting from 10:00 AM on May 11. Candidates are advised to carry a photocopy of their admit card and a valid government-recognized photo identity proof to the examination center.
Exam Pattern and Post-Exam Schedule
The JEE Advanced 2026 examination will be conducted on May 17 in two shifts. Paper 1 will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Following the conclusion of the examination, the provisional answer key will be released by IIT Roorkee on May 25. Subsequently, the final results will be declared on June 1, 2026. For students appearing for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026, registration will commence on June 1, 2026, and the examination will be conducted on June 4.
