IGNOU Also Conducts Placement Drives: Learn How to Register
IGNOU Placement: Every year, thousands of students apply for admission to the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)—the country's largest open university. If you have been under the impression that studying at IGNOU merely earns you a degree without securing a job, it is time to change that mindset. IGNOU now offers placement opportunities as well.
IGNOU Placement: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is not limited merely to providing distance education; it also offers students opportunities for placement. The only difference is that the system here operates slightly differently compared to other regular colleges. At IGNOU, campus placements are conducted under the banner of "Placement Drives" (IGNOU Campus Placement 2026). These initiatives involve organizing job fairs at various regional centers.
IGNOU Placement Process: How Does Placement Work at IGNOU?
IGNOU maintains its own dedicated Campus Placement Cell (CPC). This team collaborates with various companies to organize and conduct placement drives. Occasionally, "Mega Placement Drives" are held at the Delhi headquarters. The best part is that participation is not restricted to final-year students alone; alumni (former students) are also eligible to take part.

Students are advised to regularly check the "Announcements" section on the official IGNOU website. Whenever a placement drive is announced, a separate registration process is required to participate. Furthermore, when appearing for an interview, it is absolutely essential to carry your IGNOU ID card, an updated CV, passport-sized photographs, and all other necessary documents.
What Has the Placement Record Been Like?
In 2022, IGNOU's Campus Placement Cell (CPC) organized a placement drive at its Delhi headquarters. This recruitment process was conducted specifically for the company Globiva. A total of 506 students participated in the drive, out of whom 133 were successfully selected for employment.
