IGNOU Admission 2026: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has once again extended the last date to apply for fresh admissions and re-registration for January 2026. Students who have not yet registered for the new academic session of January 2026 or wish to re-register for Online Distance Learning (ODL) and online programs can register for the programs until February 15.

IGNOU has extended the application deadline for all Online Distance Learning and online mode programs, except for certificate and semester-based programs. The list of online programs is available on the official website – iop.ignouonline.ac.in. Students can view the programs and apply accordingly. For courses other than online programs, candidates can choose the ODL mode.

IGNOU Fresh Admission 2026: How to Apply
First, visit the official website ignou.ac.in.
Go to the ‘Register Online’ tab and click on it, then click on ‘Fresh Admission’.
Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab.
Fill in all the required registration details.
Set a ‘Username’ and ‘Password’.
Fill in all the necessary information and submit.
Log in using the login details received on your email ID and phone number and fill in all the required details.
Select the program you wish to study.
Submit the IGNOU registration form.

Things required to fill the online form:
– Scanned photograph (less than 100 KB)
– Scanned signature (less than 100 KB)
– Scanned copy of relevant educational qualifications (less than 200 KB)
– Scanned copy of experience certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)
– Scanned copy of category certificate, if SC/ST/OBC (less than 200 KB)
