The Uttar Pradesh government has given great news for school going children. The state government has decided that the students who live 5 km or more from a government school will now be given a travel assistance fee of Rs 6000 every year. The Uttar Pradesh government has started this scheme to make the studies of children living in villages and remote areas easier. Children will now get financial relief to go to school from far away. Parents will no longer have to bear the cost of travel separately. This scheme will reduce the number of students leaving school i.e. dropouts and promote education. In such a situation, let us know how to get the benefit of this scheme.
Which children will get the benefit?
This new scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government is being started especially for thousands of students living in remote areas like Bundelkhand and Sonbhadra. This scheme has been implemented in seven districts of Bundelkhand and Sonbhadra. The names of these districts are Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, Sonbhadra. The benefit of the scheme will be given to those students who are studying from 9th to 12th class and any government school is at least 5 km away from their home. Under the scheme, travel assistance of Rs 6000 will be given every year. This money will be transferred directly to the bank account of the children. At the same time, the benefit of this scheme will also be available to the girl students of 146 government schools selected under the Pradhan Mantri Shri Yojana. This will make it easier for the daughters of villages to reach school and they will be able to continue their studies without interruption.
How to get the benefit of this scheme?
To get the benefit of this scheme, students have to fill a form. In this form, it will have to be written that there is no government school within 5 km of their house. Apart from this, the village head and school principal will verify this form. After this, the village head and the school principal will check and certify the form. Later the city councilor will verify this information. Along with this, as soon as the form is confirmed, the money will be transferred to the students' account. But the benefit of the scheme will be available only when the students are regularly present in the school and it will be necessary for the students to increase their attendance by at least 10 percent compared to last year.
