ICAI postponed the CA exam due to heavy rains and floods in Punjab and Jammu

ICAI has postponed the CA Inter and Final examinations to be held on 3rd and 4th September 2025 in view of the heavy rains and flood situation in Punjab and Jammu.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has taken a big decision. In view of the continuous heavy rains and flood situation in many cities of Punjab and Jammu, the CA Intermediate and Final examinations to be held on 3rd and 4th September 2025 have been postponed. This decision has brought relief to thousands of students who were going to take the exam in these areas and whose safety was being questioned.
ICAI issued a notice on its official website icai.org saying that the revised exam dates will be announced in due course. That is, students will have to wait a little for the new dates.
In which cities the exam was postponed?
This decision has been taken for eight major cities of Punjab and Jammu. The cities of Punjab where the examination has been postponed include Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mandi Gobindgarh, Pathankot, Patiala and Sangrur. At the same time, in the Jammu region, only Jammu city has been kept in this scope.

On which dates were the exams to be held?
The schedule of CA Intermediate and Final examinations was already announced. The Intermediate examination was to be held from 4 to 15 September.
Group 1 papers were to be held on 4, 7 and 9 September.
Group 2 papers were scheduled on 11, 13 and 15 September.
At the same time, CA Final Exam 2025 was also scheduled this month.
The papers for Group 1 were to be held on 3, 6 and 8 September.
The papers for Group 2 were scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 September.
But now the exams of 3 and 4 September will be affected and new dates will be announced soon.
Why was this decision taken?
It has been raining continuously for the last few days in many parts of Punjab and Jammu. Due to this, water has filled up in many places and a flood-like situation has arisen. Rivers are in spate and road connectivity has been lost in many areas. In such a situation, it has become difficult for students to reach the examination centers. ICAI decided to postpone the exam keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the students. The institution has clarified that the exam has been postponed only in those cities where the situation is not normal. In the rest of the country, the exam will be held as per schedule.
