Sarkari Bank Jobs: Millions of candidates dream of getting a job in a bank. Every year, IBPS releases vacancies. Does IBPS conduct recruitment exams for every bank in India? What are the paths to getting a job in a bank? Let's learn about the IBPS recruitment exam and which banks recruit through IBPS. In fact, recruitment exams for 11 major public sector banks and more than 40 rural banks (RRBs) in India are conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). IBPS conducts exams every year for various positions in government banks, such as clerks, probationary officers (POs), specialist officers (SOs), regional rural bank officers, and office assistants.

These include Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, and Punjab & Sind Bank. However, the country's largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), conducts its own recruitment exam and is not a part of the IBPS.

The exam is conducted at three levels:

Prelims
Mains
Interview
There are only two exams (Prelims and Mains) for the clerk position.

Educational Qualifications and Requirements
A graduate degree from a recognized university is required. The age limit for a PO is 20 to 30 years, and for a clerk, the age limit is 20 to 28 years. Candidates from reserved categories are exempted as per the rules. Basic computer knowledge is required.

For all clerk and RRB positions, if the recruitment is for a bank in a state or union territory, applicants must know the official language of that region through a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). However, for PO (General), this regional language is not mandatory. Specialist Officers (SOs) require a specialized educational qualification in the relevant subject (e.g., LLB for Law Officers). Graduates from any stream (Arts, Science, or Commerce) can appear for these exams.
