IAS Training, LBSNAA Fees: After the release of the final result of the UPSC Civil Services Examination, training of young IAS, IPS, and IFS officers starts. Training of young officers takes place at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration i.e. LBSNAA located in Mahsuri, Uttarakhand. First of all, IAS, IPS, and IFS officers are trained together for 4 months. Which is called a foundation course. During this, everyone is given information about the basics of administration. After three months, IPS officers are sent to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad for further training.
How much are the fees of LBSNAA?
Trainee officers have to pay very nominal fees in LBSNAA located in Mussoorie. If one person has to pay Rs 350 per month. Whereas the fare for a room for two persons is Rs 175 per person. This includes the cost of facilities like water and electricity. Apart from this, mess fees of about Rs 10 thousand have to be paid.
Trainee IAS-IPS salary
Trainee IAS-IPS in LBSNAA gets a stipend or salary of about Rs 40 thousand every month. The salary is Rs 56000 per month. But after deducting other expenses including mess and hostel fees, the in-hand salary comes to around Rs 40,000.
Training of IAS officers in LBSNAA
Foundation Course: It is for 4 months. During this period, IAS and IPS train together.
Phase-1: Phase-1 training includes 40-45 days of Bharat Darshan and 15 weeks of academic modules.
District training: During this period, trainee officers are sent to a district and it lasts for about a year.
Phase-2: Phase-2 training is of six weeks/two months. During this, they share the experiences they have learned during the training so far.
Assistant Secretaryship: During this period, all the trainee IAS officers work as Assistant Secretaries in the Central Secretariat.
Facilities to trainee IAS officers in LBSNAA
In LBSNAA, trainee officers get many other facilities apart from the hostel for accommodation and mess for food. Which includes a sports complex, library, dispensary, IT service etc.
