HTET 2026: Applications for the Haryana TET exam will begin soon; the exam could be held in December..
The Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH) previously issued a notification regarding the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026, indicating that the examination would be conducted within this year. The Board also advised all candidates to continue their preparations.
With only two months remaining in the year, it is expected that the Haryana Board may release the official HTET 2026 notification and commence the application process at any time.
Eligibility for the Haryana TET Exam
To apply for the Haryana TET Level 1 (PRT), candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in Class 12 and hold a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). For the Level 2 (TGT) examination, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree along with a D.El.Ed. or B.Ed. qualification. For Level 3 (PGT), a postgraduate degree along with a B.Ed. is required.
Candidates from states other than Haryana are also eligible to apply.
Individuals who are not residents of Haryana—hailing from any other state in India—are also eligible to submit an application.
The examination may be held in December.
The Haryana Board is expected to begin the application process soon, with candidates likely being given a window of approximately 20 days to one month to apply. Consequently, it is anticipated that the examination will be conducted in December 2026.
Qualifying Marks
To qualify for the Haryana TET, candidates from the General category and those from other states must secure a minimum of 60% marks (i.e., 90 out of 150 marks). For candidates from Haryana belonging to the SC, ST, OBC, or PH (Persons with Disabilities) categories, the qualifying threshold is set at 55% (i.e., 82 out of 150 marks).
