Currently, experienced Mail/Express loco pilots in the Indian Railways earn between ₹60,000 and ₹90,000 per month (or more), inclusive of various allowances. The salary for bullet train drivers is expected to be higher, given the greater level of responsibility associated with the role, as well as the requirement for specialized training and high technical proficiency. However, NHSRCL has not yet announced an official pay scale for the position.
