First step - MBBS degree
If you want to become a sexologist in India, then first of all, you have to do an MBBS. As you know, it is a 5.5-year course. This includes one year of internship. For admission in MBBS, one has to pass the NEET UG exam.

Second step - Post Graduation (PG Specialization)

After MBBS, you will have to take a post-graduation degree in medicine. But it is important to note that sexology is not a separate MD/MS degree in itself, but it is related to many medical specializations. For example, there is MD Psychiatry for mental and sexual problems, MD Dermatology and Venereology for skin and sexual diseases, MD Obstetrics and Gynecology for women's reproductive health, and MCh Urology course for male reproductive and urinary diseases.

Third stage - Training
The next stage after post-graduation is special training in sexual medicine or sexology. Apart from AIIMS and CMC Vellore in India, some private medical colleges also offer a fellowship in sexual medicine or a certificate course in sexology. This training makes a general doctor a sexual health expert.
