It is the only Indian institute to feature in the global top 100 for ‘Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes,’ ranking 84th in this category. Meanwhile, IIM Calcutta is ranked 95th. These three premier IIMs have seen the most significant shifts in their rankings this time.
US Institutions Dominate the Top 10
In the QS MBA Rankings 2027, US institutions occupy the top four spots within the global top 10. MIT Sloan School of Management secured the number one position for the first time. Harvard Business School followed in second place, while the Graduate School of Business and Penn (Wharton) took the third and fourth spots, respectively. In Asia, the National University of Singapore Business School leads the pack, ranking 23rd globally.
What Criteria Were Used for Ranking?
QS evaluated MBA programs based on five key areas. Employability was given the highest weightage at 40 percent. This was followed by ‘Value for Money’ (20 percent), ‘Alumni Outcomes’ and ‘Thought Leadership’ (15 percent each), and ‘Diversity’ (10 percent). According to QS, Indian business schools faced stiff competition from global institutions this year in areas such as Return on Investment, Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes, and Diversity. However, ten Indian institutions improved their performance in the field of Thought Leadership.
