Haryana Government Yoga Policy: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the government announced that questions related to yoga will be included in all examinations conducted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).

Haryana Government Yoga Policy: The Haryana government has taken a significant decision to promote yoga education. Greater emphasis will now be placed on yoga in schools, universities, and government recruitment examinations across the state. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the government announced that questions related to yoga would be included in all examinations conducted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). Following this decision, aspirants preparing for government jobs will also need to study subjects related to yoga. The state government maintains that yoga is an integral part of Indian culture and lifestyle; consequently, several new initiatives are being launched to strengthen yoga education and research.

Yoga Questions to be Included in HSSC and HPSC Exams

The Haryana government has clarified that questions related to yoga will be asked in all HSSC and HPSC examinations conducted within the state. The objective is to connect the youth with the importance of yoga and raise awareness about Indian traditions. The government believes that growing awareness of yoga will help young people remain physically and mentally healthy; hence, it is being incorporated into recruitment examinations. To promote research and training in the fields of yoga and naturopathy, the government has announced the establishment of a state-level Institute of Naturopathy and Yoga in Morni. This institute will serve as a major hub for activities related to yoga, naturopathy, wellness education, and research, offering students and researchers opportunities for study and training in this field.

Yoga to be Included in University Centers of Excellence

The Haryana government has also announced that yoga will be included as a key component in the five Centers of Excellence being established across various universities in the state. These centers will promote study, training, and research activities related to yoga, as the government aims to strengthen the role of yoga within higher education institutions as well.

The United Nations declared International Yoga Day in 2014.

Addressing a yoga practice event organized in Sirsa district on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that yoga is an invaluable gift of Indian culture, bestowed by the country's sages and seers for the welfare of all humanity. He noted that yoga has gained international recognition due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has now been adopted by almost every country in the world. The Chief Minister mentioned that, following Prime Minister Modi's initiative, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014. He highlighted that 177 countries had supported the proposal at that time. Today, yoga has become an essential means for achieving health and a balanced life on a global scale.
