There is good news for the youth who are dreaming of serving the country, especially in a government job. Such youth are going to get a big opportunity soon. More than one lakh posts are lying vacant in the Central Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles. Now the government is working fast to start the recruitment process in these. The government itself has given this information in Parliament.

Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has given this information in response to a question in the Rajya Sabha recently. He said that as of January 1, 2025, a total of 1,09,868 posts were vacant in the Central Paramilitary Forces. Out of these, the recruitment process is already going on for 72,689 posts. The entire emphasis of the government is on completing these recruitments as soon as possible, so that the internal security of the country can be further strengthened.

Why are there so many vacancies, and what is the government doing?
The Union Minister said that vacancies in paramilitary forces keep occurring due to many reasons, like retirement, resignation, promotion, martyrdom of soldiers, or formation of new battalions. This is an ongoing process, but the government is serious about filling these vacancies as soon as possible. That is why the Home Ministry has taken several steps to complete these recruitments quickly.

A major step is that the ministry has signed an agreement (MoU) with the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Its purpose is to speed up the recruitment process for the posts of Constable (General Duty). Apart from this, all CAPFs and Assam Rifles have been instructed to immediately fill the vacancies in non-general duty roles as well. That is, not only constables, but recruitment will also be done for different technical and administrative posts.

Special steps taken to speed up the recruitment process
The government is not just talking, but is also bringing changes at the ground level so that the time taken in the recruitment process is reduced. Nityanand Rai said that some special measures have been taken to speed up the recruitment:
Timely meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC): This will enable the posts falling vacant due to promotion to be filled immediately, and space will be created for further posts.
Reduction in the time taken in medical examinations: Emphasis is being laid on reducing the delay in medical checkups so that the entire process is completed quickly.
Reduction in cut-off marks for constable and general duty posts: This will enable more and more candidates to get shortlisted, and the recruitment process will be expedited.
