The application fee for the compartmental examination has been fixed at ₹150, while the examination fee is ₹260. However, students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), the Scheduled Tribes (ST), or those from an international background (under the Regular Category) are exempted from paying the examination fee. The Bihar Board has clarified that applications must be submitted exclusively through the schools.

Students who were unable to pass the Bihar Board Class 12 examination, or those who wish to improve their scores in a specific subject, are eligible to apply for the compartmental examination. This year, the BSEB Class 12 examinations were conducted from February 2 to February 13, 2026, and the results were declared on March 23 at 1:30 PM.
