Additionally, ‘Textile Engineering and Fibre Science’ (TF) has now been included as a sectional paper under ‘Engineering Sciences’ (XE). Despite these changes, candidates will still have the option to choose one or two papers from the total 30 test papers, in accordance with the prescribed rules.

There have been no changes to the eligibility criteria for GATE 2027. Students who have graduated or are currently in their final year of studies in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, or Arts are eligible to apply. Furthermore, third-year B.Tech students are also eligible to take the exam. There is no minimum or maximum age limit prescribed for this examination.
