Why is DigiLocker mandatory for the application?
According to official information, registration via DigiLocker is mandatory for all Indian citizens applying for GATE 2027.
Several details required for the application will be fetched from DigiLocker. These include name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, profile photo, address, and verified identity document number. Candidates are advised to verify their DigiLocker account before applying.
However, candidates may also register without a verified DigiLocker account. Such candidates can opt for a default identity proof while filling out the application. These applications will be scrutinized for the necessary documents after the application process concludes.
What documents are required to fill out the GATE 2027 form?
Candidates must keep the necessary documents ready while applying. These include:
A live photograph of the candidate will be captured during registration. A computer with a webcam or a mobile phone with a front-facing camera of at least 5 megapixels can be used for this purpose.
The photograph must be taken in a well-lit area.
A high-quality photograph of the candidate meeting the prescribed standards.

The same identity proof verified via DigiLocker must be carried in its original form to the examination center.

A scanned copy of the UDID or disability certificate must be uploaded in PDF format. The file can be named 'UDID_CERT.pdf' or 'PWD_CERT.pdf'.
The applicable certificate—either Appendix-B1, Appendix-B2, or a dyslexia certificate—must be combined with the disability certificate into a single PDF file.
Certificates required for availing compensatory time and the facility of a scribe must also be kept ready.
