GATE 2025 Marking Scheme: The GATE exam is to be conducted from February 1, for which the admit card will be issued today, January 7. The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025 at various examination centers across the country. There will be 30 test papers in GATE 2025 and a candidate can give a maximum of two papers. This exam will be conducted in two sessions in CBT mode. The first session exam will be from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. At the same time, the second session exam will be conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. There will be a total of 65 questions in the GATE 2025 exam. Out of a total of 65 questions, 10 questions will be from General Aptitude and 55 questions will be from the related subject. The GATE score is valid for three years from the date of declaration of the result, which is used for admission to postgraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and science as well as for getting many government jobs. There is a provision for negative marking in the GATE 2025 exam. There is a negative marking for every wrong answer in this exam. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer in GATE, while one-fourth of the marks will be deducted for giving the wrong answer. Each question in the GATE 2025 exam will be for 1 mark or 2 marks. There will be three types of questions in this exam - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. If you have given the wrong answer to a 1-mark MCQ question, then 1/3 of your marks will be deducted. If you have given the wrong answer to a 2-mark MCQ question, then 2/3 of your marks will be deducted. There is no negative marking for Multiple Select Question (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions in the GATE exam. Also, there is no partial negative marking for any question.
In the GATE 2025 exam, all papers except AR, CY, DA, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL papers will be for a total of 100 marks. It will have questions for 15 marks from General Aptitude, 13 marks from Engineering Mathematics, and 72 marks related to the subject.
In GATE 2025, R, CY, DA, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL papers will be for a total of 100 marks, in which there will be questions for 15 marks from General Aptitude and 85 marks related to the subject.
GATE 2025 Engineering Science Exam Pattern
Students appearing for the Engineering Science test paper should know that General Aptitude will carry 15 marks, Engineering Mathematics (compulsory) will carry 11 questions for 15 marks and the XE section will carry any two of B to H with 22 questions for 35 marks.
