GATE Exam 2026 Notification: IIT Guwahati has released the notification of GATE 2026. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply through the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in from August 25. This exam is conducted for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programs in subjects such as engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities.

IIT Guwahati has informed that the GATE 2026 exam will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. The registration process will start from August 25, and the last date for candidates to apply will be September 25, 2025.
The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts. Forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The admit cards will be available for download from January 2, 2026, while the score cards will be available for free download from March 27 to May 31, 2026.
A new paper has been added to the exam.
This time, a new paper on Energy Science has been added under Engineering Science (XE) in GATE 2026. However, the total number of exam papers will remain 30 only. The exam will be held as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in two shifts - from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
How much will be the application fee?
The entire application process of GATE 2026 will be online, which includes filling out the form, fee payment, and uploading the required documents. The application fee has been fixed differently according to the category. The fee for female candidates, SC, ST, and Divyang categories is Rs 1,000 (regular period) and Rs 1,500 (extended period). For all other candidates, the fee has been kept at Rs 2,000 (regular period) and Rs 2,500 (extended period).

First of all, go to the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
First of all, register by entering your name, email ID, and mobile number.
You will get the login ID and password.
After registration, log in and open the application form.
Fill in personal information (name, date of birth, address), educational qualification, choice of examination center, etc.
Upload a passport-size photo, signature, and necessary certificates (such as category certificate, Divyang certificate, etc.).
Pay the application fee through online medium (debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI).
Apply after checking all the information.
