CBSE board answer sheets are checked only by teachers appointed by the board. Schools first send a list of their qualified and experienced teachers to CBSE.

CBSE board exams are about to begin. Students are already preparing for the exams. After taking the exams, most students worry about who will check their answer sheets and who will award them marks. Furthermore, the question arises as to how much money teachers receive for checking answer sheets. Whether it's for the CBSE board or the UP Board, the process of checking answer sheets is highly confidential and subject to regulations. So, let us explain how teachers are selected to check answer sheets and how much they are paid for checking answer sheets.

Who checks CBSE answer sheets?

CBSE answer sheets are checked only by teachers appointed by the board. Schools first send a list of their qualified and experienced teachers to the CBSE. The board then verifies these names and assigns qualified teachers the responsibility of checking the answer sheets. The CBSE copy checking team is divided into several roles. These include the head examiner, who oversees the entire evaluation process. Assistant examiners, who check students' answer sheets, and scrutinizers, who, after awarding marks, recheck the answer sheets and correct any errors.

How is the copy checking done?

The CBSE conducts complete copy checking in a transparent and regulatory manner. CBSE copies bear a confidential code, not the student's name. Copy checking centers are kept completely confidential. In addition, in many places, digital marking is also done by scanning the answer sheets. Examiners check the answer sheets only after understanding the marking scheme. Furthermore, the chief examiner ensures that no student is treated unduly harshly or carelessly.

How much does CBSE pay teachers for checking copies?

According to reports, CBSE pays teachers 25 rupees for checking a 10th-grade exam copy and 30 rupees for checking a 12th-grade exam copy. Furthermore, CBSE also provides teachers with a travel allowance of 250 rupees and a meal allowance of 75 rupees.

How much does the UP Board pay?

The UP government has increased the remuneration of principals, teachers, and staff working at examination centers, evaluation centers, and collection centers. These rates will be applicable from the 2025-26 academic session. According to the new orders, the center administrator at the UP Board will receive 200 rupees per day, while the room in-charge will receive 100 rupees per day. Additionally, clerks will receive 40 rupees per shift, and bundle carriers will receive 20 rupees per shift. According to the UP Board, the Chief Controller and Deputy Controller of Evaluation Centers will now receive 8 rupees per examiner instead of 6. Assistant Deputy Controllers will receive 7 rupees per examiner instead of 5 rupees.
